Shimmering Reeds captures the quiet brilliance of light moving across water at the edge of a reed-filled pond. A soft, open centre draws the eye inward, surrounded by clusters of lily pads, deep blue reflections, and slender reeds rising gently from the surface. Layers of cool blues, muted aquas, mossy greens, and delicate pink-lilac accents create a luminous, almost flickering effect - as if the water is holding the last shimmer of daylight. The richly textured surface of oil pastel on raw cotton canvas gives the piece a remarkable sense of depth and softness, making it feel organic, tactile, and quietly alive. What makes Shimmering Reeds so distinctive is this balance between stillness and sparkle: a calm composition animated by subtle movement and light.
Part of the Summer Edition, Shimmering Reeds is inspired by water, shifting light, and the quiet emotional landscapes they create. Each piece in the series is designed to bring calm, depth, and quiet presence into a space - an original work created not only to be seen, but to shape how a room feels. With its refined palette of blues, greens, violets, and soft earthy tones, Shimmering Reeds brings atmosphere, softness, and a sense of understated luxury to an interior.
